Head Winemaker Scott Kirkpatrick is at the helm of this family owned and operated winery that spans four generations. Scott practices the “less is more” approach to winemaking, allowing the grapes and terroir of Lake County to shine through. The terroir of their 20-acre Old Stake 1901 property in the Kelsey Bench AVA is ideal for Cabernet Sauvignons with its 1400 ft. elevation, rust-colored, volcanic deposits, and cool afternoon winds, all of which play a part in producing beautifully-balanced, full-bodied, yet elegantly-refined red wines.
