Maison Joseph Drouhin Côte de Beaune Villages

 Drouhin’s history in the region as a negociant, grower and winemaker dates back to the 1880s. Veronique Drouhin is the current winemaker, one of the first women in Burgundy to have that distinction, and I would fan-girl to an embarrassing degree if I ever met her. Anyway, her wines are elegant, taking it easy on the new oak and letting the terroir do the talking. The fruit is sourced from around the Côte de Beaune region, and it’s a lovely gateway to learning what Burgundy is all about.
