Les Athlètes du Vin is a négociant project started by the independent winegrowers group, Vini Be Good. The goal of the group is to allow growers and makers a space to focus on their craft instead of worrying about a bottom line. Les Athletes du Vin focuses on “typical, value-driven wines from the Loire Valley” and works largely with growers who are farming either organically or biodynamically. These classic Loire wines have become some of our favorite go-to bottles. These affordable wines are perfect for bringing to a neighbor’s house, pairing with your weeknight dinner, or exploring a new style.
All three wines are available at Krog, West End and Fayetteville locations.
Vin de France Chenin Blanc - $19.99

It’s pleasantly fruity with a great acid balance, making it super easy-drinking. The palate shows notes of white peach, pear, and gentle citrus. It makes a great pairing with grilled fish and spicy foods - think fish tacos!
Vin de France Gamay - $19.99
This Gamay hand-picked, destemmed, and macerated. The wine ferments in concrete tanks before aging for six months in a blend of concrete and stainless steel tanks. It sees a gentle filtration and no fining. The palate is bright and juicy with black cherries, dark red fruits, and a bit of spice. Try it alongside a homemade charcuterie board.
