The Aslin hype is REAL

May 04, 2023

We haven't gotten this excited about a brewery in a minute y'all. Across styles, the quality of beer coming from this Virginia based institution continues to impress. You might wanna pin them down as a haze factory, but then you try their fruited sours and it's clear they're all about hype sours, but then you try one of their crazy lagers and it's so good that you don't know what to think anymore.

Whatever, who cares, the beer is simply delicious. Check out the new goods, and decide for yourself what Aslin does best.

Esparante Afresca

This bright and lovely Mexican style lager is moderately hopped with Mosaic hops, then dosed with watermelon to elevate it to Agua Fresca territory in the best way. The aroma is a blast of watermelon Jolly Rancher and juice, and that follows on the front end of the sip. But the finish is standard lager clean, and begs for another.

Daddy Juice

Don't let the lightly creepy name throw you off, this is top-notch fruited sour beer. Blueberry and mango is not a fruit combination you see very often, and the execution here works perfectly. Not so thick that it's a smoothie, but with enough body and oomph to be very delicious and very drinkable at the same time.

Mind The Hop

These folks definitely know haze. This big double IPA pushes the hoppy flavors and aromas of orange, peach and mango to 11, and still manages to maintain a moderate body and a pleasant finish. The booze is still easy to ignore with all the juice to be had here. A big, hazy IPA that'll go toe-to-toe with the best of 'em.
